The Plitvice-lakes National Park is divided into two bigger pats: upper and lower lakes.
Kozjak, the biggest lake of the park is nested in the upper lakes area. Twelve lakes are located in the area, at different heights. The second biggest waterfall, called Galovacki Buk, can also be found here.
The lower lakes area contains four lakes and also the well-known waterfalls. Croatia’s biggest (78 metres high) waterfall is also part of the area. It is recommended to visit before or after the main season. The landscape is even more beautiful in the spring and in the autumn.
